In celebration of Earth Day the Middle School attended a showing of Disney’s The Monkey Kingdom set in South Asia. It was a fascinating look at the lives and social structure of macaque monkeys. Much like humans the bonds of family are strong, social classes exist but there are opportunities to climb the social ladder, or in this case fig tree. Not only did it highlight interactions within the species but it the movie emphasized the relationship the monkeys had with other creatures who share their habitat.
After the movie, the students took some time to enjoy the lovely spring weather while snacking on ice cream at Flavors at Cook Farm.
