Girls’ Varsity Volleyball and Girls’ Varsity Soccer wrapped up their seasons this weekend with the NESPAC Class C playoffs. We’re proud of their efforts!
GVV beat Bancroft School 3-0 on Saturday to make it to Sunday’s final against #1 seed King School. Although they fell short of the title with a 3-0 loss (11-25, 20-25, 19-25), they had a great showing and played a stellar match against a talented team.
GVS fought hard but lost in 2-1 in overtime to a strong Kimball Union Academy in the semi; KUA went on to win the title. Our Mustangs were seeded #1–no small feat, given the bump up to the more competitive Class C division this year–and entered the semifinal with more than 40 consecutive wins.
Both teams had standout seasons. GVV lost only once this season, and four players were selected as New England All-Stars: Jocelyn St. Onge ’18, Ashley Stebbins ’18, Sarah Scott ’19, and Kacey Deecher ’20.
GVS finished the regular season as Western New England Class C Champions. Ala Legowski ‘19 and Ania Ludkiewicz ’19 were named Western New England All-Stars. Emilee Auclair ‘18 was selected for both the Western New England All-Stars and, together with Isabel Alvarez ’18, the New England Junior All-Star team.
Boys’ Varsity Soccer fell just short of the NEPSAC playoffs this year, finishing 9th in the division. Noah Nunes ’17 and Devon Huard ’18 made the Western New England All-Star team, and Noah was also named a New England Senior All-Star.
Congratulations to the coaches and players on so many achievements again this fall. Go Mustangs!
