We’re happy to announce that a new partnership with the Wentworth Institute of Technology guarantees qualified MacDuffie students admission to the Boston-based university.
One of our objectives as a college prep school is to set up students for both personal growth and professional success. Under the agreement with Wentworth, students interested in pursuing a career in engineering, technology, design, or management can take an advantageous step in that direction. “Preparing our students for ‘life after MacDuffie’ is at the heart of what we do,” said Mr. Griffin, Head of School. “This agreement with Wentworth represents a tremendous advantage for our students with an interest in STEM.”
Similar to our agreement with the Masschusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS), admission is contingent on several criteria. MacDuffie students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5, complete at least one laboratory science course, and have four years of English or ELL with a yearly grade of C or better. Additionally, certain course and grade prerequisites must be met, depending on the student’s intended field of study at Wentworth. The university has four colleges: Architecture, Design and Construction Management; Arts and Sciences; Engineering and Technology; and Professional and Continuing Education.
“Partnering with private high schools like The MacDuffie School and recruiting international students is an important part of our strategic plan,” said Wentworth President Zorica Pantic. Also part of the university’s vision, as state on the Wentworth website, is to become “nationally recognized as the university of choice for externally-collaborative, project-based, interdisciplinary learning.”
We’re proud to offer our students this opportunity and look forward to sending them to Wentworth!
