At MacDuffie, the after school interscholastic athletic program is an important part of a student’s educational experience. We offer a variety of teams for both boys and girls during all three seasons. The Varsity program provides a competitive team experience where outcome and achievement are a high priority. All students are encouraged to participate, regardless of their skill level. Overall MacDuffie Athletics is committed to promoting the ideals of sportsmanship, respect, leadership, and integrity. Our goal is to build individual athletic ability, increase physical fitness, and help gain a sense of community.
When there is enough student interest, intramural or club teams may be established.
MACDUFFIE BOYS SOCCER WINS WNEPSSA CLASS D CUP CHAMPIONSHIP
The MacDuffie Boys Varsity Soccer Team, WNEPSSA D Cup Champions, are to be commended for their exceptional achievement this season, not just for their regular season record of 8-3-2, but also for being selected as the third ranked team in the Class D Division in New England.
The team lost to a very strong Lexington Christian Academy Team putting MacDuffie out of the playoffs at the quarter final stage.
MacDuffie players, Vitor Campos ‘12 of Brazil and Jeff Marvel ’13 of Feeding Hills, MA were both selected to represent WNEPSSA North on an All Star Team and also to be part of a 33 man squad for the Class C/D All Select Team.
Jeff Marvel, a three year veteran on the team, earned the MVP award for the 2011 season. “Over his three years on the team Jeff has continued to develop his game to a high level,” notes coach, Meirion George, “and Jeff is now a seasoned leader on the team. Jeff consistently demonstrated a work ethic and dedication that created just the right atmosphere for the players to pull together as a team and head to the championship. They surpassed all of our expectations.”
